Jennifer Davis joined Marian Cancer Care in 2007. She has lived on the Central Coast and worked in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties since 1971. Jennifer graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Her varied work experience has included 18 years in the Worker’s Compensation field as a certified vocational rehabilitation counselor. She also has experience as an elder care case manager.
Jennifer is available to provide short term, one on one counseling, information and referral to community resources, and to coordinate and facilitate support groups, educational programs and other resources for cancer patients, their families and caregivers. She can also provide a caring and listening ear and encourage those who are living with a cancer diagnosis.
Carol Lowe, RN, OCN, serves as an Oncology Nurse Navigator with over 35 years of experience. She received her degree in Nursing from Oklahoma City Community College and relocated to the California Central Coast in 2012. Carol’s diverse nursing background from experience in the Navy to work in oncology and navigation offers a wealth of knowledge to patients navigating the complexities of the health care system. As an Oncology Nurse Navigator, she educates patients and connects them to critical support resources throughout their cancer journey. Carol also facilitates both the Lung and Colonoscopy screening programs, offering essential community preventative services to detect cancer early and improve overall health outcomes.
Hector Rodriguez, serves as the Lay Patient Navigator at Mission Hope Cancer Center. After receiving his Veterinary Science degree from University of Zacatecas (UAZ) in Mexico, his family immigrated to the United States, where he pursued a career in public health outreach and oncology patient support services. He received his Oncology Patient Navigator Diploma from George Washington University (GWU) Cancer Institute in 2016 and deeply enjoys working and supporting the community with his oncology navigation skills. Hector brings nearly a decade of patient and community support experience serving the Spanish-speaking Community of the greater Santa Maria area. As a Lay Patient Navigator, Hector is a patient advocate that assists patients in accessing the complicated health care system, connects patients and families to critical cancer support care services, and serves as the patient liaison for nutrition counseling, as well as chemotherapy and prevention education for the Spanish-speaking community. Hector maintains a strong passion for working within his community and continually strives to empower each patient to stay engaged in their wellness, while taking an active role in navigating their cancer journey.
Ashley Hahn, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, joined Mission Hope at Marian Cancer Care in 2019. Ashley graduated from San Jose State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. After a few years working in adult day health care Ashley pursued graduate school at California State University Bakersfield and graduated in 2009 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Ashley completed her License in Clinical Social Work in 2015. She has been a well-respected and beloved social worker at Dignity Health for 7 years.
As a Social Worker and Patient Advocate at Mission Hope, Ashley is available to provide short term counseling, offer referrals to essential community resources, facilitate support groups and educational programs and coordinate the availability of other resources for cancer patients, their families and caregivers as needed. She is also always willing to provide a caring and listening ear and offer encouragement to those who are living with a cancer diagnosis and needing support on their cancer journey.
