A diagnosis of cancer can be overwhelming. Nurse Navigators are advocates who help navigate patients and their families through each stage cancer, from diagnosis through final treatments. Patients receive crucial, individual education and support by an experienced cancer nurse from the time of biopsy throughout the course of treatment. Counseling, genetic testing, nutritional support, exercise and prevention are also provided.

Sean Hunt, RN, serves as Oncology Program Nurse at Marian Cancer Care. He provides much needed information and education to cancer patients and their families. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Nursing went to work in oncology at the USC Norris Cancer Center. Sean’s background includes experience in Hospice Care, the Intensive Care Unit and Chemotherapy Biotherapy. He also facilitates our Men's Cancer Discussion Group that meets the second Friday and fourth Wednesday of the month. As a cancer survivor of leukemia, Sean is able to speak from experience and is an especially valuable addition to the Cancer Center staff.

Liz Elliott, RN, OCN who has more than 20 years experience as a cancer nurse and was recently recognized by Enhancement, Inc. for her outstanding service to the Central Coast breast cancer community, is a specially trained Breast Cancer nurse. Liz serves as an educator, advocate and guide for every breast cancer patient of Mission Hope Cancer Center as well as their families. She will serve as a liaison between you, your doctors, and your family, knowing first hand that your well being and peace of mind are as important as your treatment.

Breast cancer can be frightening. But with the Marian Breast Care Program at Mission Hope Cancer Center, you're not alone. The Breast Care Program's Nurse Navigator guides you through the course of treating breast cancer, from prevention to post-treatment. Patients receive crucial, individual education and support by an experienced cancer nurse from the time of biopsy throughout the course of treatment. Also, services are offered in counseling, genetic testing, nutritional support, exercise and prevention and management of lymphedema.

Jennifer Davis joined Marian Cancer Care in 2007. She has lived on the Central Coast and worked in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties since 1971. Jennifer graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Her varied work experience has included 18 years in the Worker’s Compensation field as a certified vocational rehabilitation counselor. She also has experience as an elder care case manager.

Jennifer is available to provide short term, one on one counseling, information and referral to community resources, and to coordinate and facilitate support groups, educational programs and other resources for cancer patients, their families and caregivers. She can also provide a caring and listening ear and encourage those who are living with a cancer diagnosis.
