Volunteer opportunities at Mission Hope Cancer Center
The beautiful lobby of Mission Hope Cancer Center has a special place for our volunteers to greet patients and family members as they enter the building. They assist our patients and families to their destination within the center, maintain the lobby and also make sure wheelchairs are available for those who require them. Seeing a friendly face and receiving helpful direction as they enter the facility helps to uplift our patients and guests and enhance their experience.
There are two shifts each day: one in the morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 12:30 p.m.; and one in the afternoon beginning at 12:30 p.m. and concluding at 4:00 p.m. We also have morning and afternoon shifts available at Marian Cancer Care and Marian Breast Imaging Center.
To become a volunteer at Mission Hope Cancer Center, one must apply to volunteer for Marian Regional Medical Center. If you’re interested in this opportunity, please call Volunteer Services at Marian to set up your interview at 805.739.3520. The interview process is to help us learn about your specific areas of interest and includes a brief medical screening and an orientation. When asked which area you would like to volunteer, we’re hoping you’ll join Mission Hope! If you have specific questions about volunteering at MHCC, please call 805.219.HOPE; we will be happy to share our experience with you.
I have been a volunteer for 15 years, and have spent all of those years at Marian Cancer Care. I also serve on the Auxiliary Board at Marian which has been very rewarding. I am available on Tuesdays, at the number listed above, should you have any questions. Thank you for considering joining our team and becoming a volunteer. When you join the ranks of those of us providing compassionate service to MHCC patients and families, you too will experience the satisfaction of serving our community.
